A Quilt to Share
A Quilt to Share
"Be my friend"
I think my spirit said to yours
For I have found the most peace
and freedom of myself by being in your presence
It's as if I was searching to share my picnic quilt with another just like me
Where we would partake of the fruits of kindness and joy,
And faith, and love, and the present
And we would laugh at ourselves, yet be happy to be as we are
We'd talk about our hopes, and believe the best is always right around the corner
And we would cry about things that maybe didn't make sense to us, and we'd ask for understanding
And somehow get it
We would know each other by spirit, not by culture or age
We would encourage each other
And believe in each other's dreams
I wish for you
A friend like you
A pure, real friend
I wish for you
a quilt to share
I wish for you a quilt
And should your spirit somehow say, "Who'll be my friend?"
You should know, I'd gladly say "Me".
